Stunning views tranquil setting private beach

First time in Barbados will not be the last .The people are the friendliest I have ever met .This apartment is perfect if you want to totally chill & have a relaxing holiday .There is everything you require for a self catering apt very well equipped if you do not want to dine out every night ,and you won’t because once you watch the sun go down on the veranda with a glass of wine and a steak sizzling on the barbaque the desire to go out disappears very quickly. So much to see various fishing boats pass by ,cruise ships on the horizon ,balmy star filled skies ,bliss .

Should you wish to venture out at night there is an Italian approx 10 mins walk called il Tiempo this is very nice not too expensive by Barbados standards and as this is directly positioned on the beach it’s very picturesque.

Further afield you catch a bus right outside Little Reef into Holtown here you will find a number of bars & Restaurants .Would recommend The Elbow Room you cook your steak or fish course on a hot stone to your liking & this was also reasonable .

We went to the famous Oistens fish place on the Friday night ,you catch a bus outside ,we left at 5.30 and we would have been better leaving a lot earlier as the trip took almost 1 hr for a 20 min journey due to busy traffic .This was worth a visit very busy, tables are arranged outdoors with various eateries serving mainly fish .There is live music & craft stalls .We called At St Lawrence Gap on our way home for cocktails here this area was more touristy with various bars .

The best & most entertaining way around the island is defiantly the local buses they stop almost anywhere for you and each trip is only 3 Bajan dollars. Grantley the watchman met us on our arrival to show us how everything worked & even came with us for a cool beer at the local bar Wendy’s which is just across the road .

Sally called us a couple of days into our holiday to check everything was ok & again at the end of the holiday to wish us a safe trip home which was a lovely touch.

Would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation in the future & would defiantly like to return again in the not so distant future .

Location, Location, Location

This was our second time at Little Reef. The location is fantastic, and value for money, where else can you enjoy the views and swim right on your doorstep in Barbados for what we paid.

The apartment is comfortable and has everything you need. This year there is a new addition of a cooker, which is really useful, and the washing machine is brilliant. We spent most days starting with a swim, then breakfast, walk along the beach, more swims. Rum punches at sunset, dinner on the terrace. No need to go out as it couldn’t be beaten.

To be able to watch the world go by from the terrace is lovely. We saw fishermen catching their bait, fish leaping form the water, flying fish? Cruise ships come and go, we even saw turtles pop their heads up for a breath. Frigate birds swooping over what must have been a shoal of fish near the top of the surface. Locals and tourists walking by, getting caught at high tide trying to pass the rocks, lots of screams!

Wendy’s is just up the road, and a great place for inexpensive dinner and drinks, they show sports events on the tv, if that is important to some, as there is no tv in the apartment. We preferred that, because we have not come on holiday to end up watching the box.

Grantley telephoned one morning to tell us not to swim as it was extremely rough with undercurrents. We were glad he had warned us, as we watched others swim later in the day, and they did seem to struggle, they were not in long. Most of the time the sea was fabulous for swimming and snorkelling. If it is rough outside Little Reef, then it will be all along the West coast, so best to go sightseeing or try St Lawrence Gap for another lovely beach and swimming in the lagoon.

An excellent location for access to all other parts of the island, supermarket 5 minutes walk, bus stop outside, and parking space. Tip though, don’t park under the palm tree in case a coconut falls on to your hire car!

Can’t wait to go again.

Many thanks to Sally, Shirley and Grantely for looking after us.

Best wishes Emily, Ed and Judy

Amazing stay at Little Reef

Little Reef was the perfect place for our stay in Barbados. Great location, perfect for exploring the island. Backing directly onto the beach for snorkelling and walking up and down the West coast. The apartment was well equipped and had everything required. Grantley was there to welcome us and make us feel at home.

Peace and quiet

We had a lovely 3 week holiday at Little Reef, Fitts Village has all the amenities for groceries you need, the bus service is just outside the apartment and the local restaurants are very good. My husband and I have agreed that hotels in Barbados are a thing of the past.

To sit on the balcony, with glass in hand and watch the turtles and boats was pure heaven.

A little in love with Little Reef

We have just returned from our fourth stay at Little Reef, having promised ourselves five years ago that life was too short to keep returning to the same place!

However, we have been seduced by the value for money, the unbeatable position, and the breath taking views that Little Reef offers. It is a perfect retreat for us.

Fitts beach is quiet, it almost feels like a private beach, the Caribbean is 5 stone steps away from the patio, and the position of the house means you have sweeping views along the beach. I can’t think of a better way to while the day away.

The apartment has two bedrooms each with it’s own bathroom, plenty of space for four, as all day is spent outside on the balcony or large patio taking in the sun sea and sand. We made good use of the BBQ this year having made several visits to the fish market 5 minutes away on gorgeous Paynes Bay.

If you want to venture out the bus stop to Holetown or Bridgetown is less than a minutes walk from the house. Holetown has a great variety of restaurants, and close by you can eat for practically nothing at Wendy’s or push the boat out at Cin Cin, the Cliff, or Tides.

Sally the owner is responsive and will go out of her way to help with what ever you need. Shirley and Grantley are close by to help with anything you need locally.

We very much hope to return, and can recommend very highly.

Thanks to Sally for yet another fantastic stay.
